Business Department

The Business Department provides opportunities through education that help students succeed in the modern business environment. In the program, students gain a grasp of ethics, a global perspective, and the ability to examine business issues from the viewpoint of multiple disciplines. Degrees from the business program qualify students to work in many different fields, such as certified public accounting, management positions, technology services, quality assurance, analysis, and other exciting careers. The department focuses on the basics of business, external management, analytical skills, problem solving, and analysis in a technological world.

The department offers two areas of study: accounting and business administration. Classes for these majors are mostly offered at night and online to accommodate the schedules of working students. Both majors offer a bachelor of science degree, an associate of arts degree, and an associate of science degree. In the bachelor’s degree in business administration students choose a concentration in accounting, management, or management information systems.

Business Department faculty members are qualified individuals who care deeply about their areas of study, as well as the success of their students. The faculty consists of a department chair, two full-time assistant professors, and a number of adjunct instructors who are professionals in their fields. Tutoring for accounting classes is also provided by the Humphreys College Library and Learning Center.
