Liberal Arts, Community & Liberal Studies
The Liberal Arts Department provides graduates with a well-rounded education necessary for many different career goals. Disciplines in this department include communications, humanities, social and behavioral sciences, mathematics, and natural sciences. Programs in Liberal Arts focus on providing a breadth of subjects so that students can attain a variety of skills and knowledge that are essential for the business world, along with the foundation to be successful in careers requiring a bachelor degree for requisite advancement in education or business.
The Department offers two different degree fields: Liberal Studies and Community Studies. A degree in Liberal Studies prepares students to work in many different areas, including education, business communications, law, and others. The program is particularly effective for students who wish to continue in their education to obtain teaching credentials or graduate degrees. Courses in this department are offered during the day, at night, and online for the convenience of working students.
Liberal Arts faculty members are qualified and caring individuals who have many years of experience helping students achieve their goals. The faculty consists of a department chair, six full-time professors, and several adjunct instructors who also work as professionals in their fields. Tutoring for the Liberal Arts programs is also available through the Humphreys College Library & Learning Center.
