Liberal Studies

Welcome to the Liberal Arts Department! Offering degrees in liberal studies and community studies, our programs are dedicated to producing graduates who have the ability to think critically, recognize positive values of a civic society, and utilize research technology and methods as a vital part of the habit of life-long learning.

Liberal Studies

For the liberal studies program, the faculty designed the degrees with aspiring elementary school teachers in mind. The Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies prepares graduates to be successful in pursuit of a California teaching credential, including the multiple subject credential offered at our College. Since the degree imparts breadth in its scope of subjects, graduates are provided with a liberal studies foundation that affords them the opportunity to thrive in a variety of careers requiring a bachelor degree as a requisite for advancement in education or business. With its emphases in the social behavioral sciences and the humanities, our baccalaureate degree also prepares students for graduate programs in education, liberal studies, and law.
