Career resource and job placement assistance is available to alumni and current full-time students who have attended for at least three quarters. Job placement counselors are available and can assist you with your job search and related activities.

Preparing to find successful employment in your new career takes preparation and determination; the Career Resource Presentation* was designed as a tool to assist with your job search. Examples of useful information that can be found in the presentation include:

  • Interviewing tips
  • Importance of networking
  • How to write a cover letter
  • Volunteering, internships, and "temp agencies"
  • Resume preparation
  • Job website locations

Individuals have the opportunity to post their resumes on job search sites that reach national and
international employers. The college recommends utilizing Monster or other comparable job-search sites when students and alumni take their job search national and/or global.

Occupational Outlook Handbook

The U.S. Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics lists the "training and education needed, expected job prospects and earning potential" for many jobs, in the Occupational Outlook Handbook.

California Occupational Guides

The State of California, Employment Development Department publishes Occupational Guides to "furnish information on California wages, job outlook, education, and licensing requirements for approximately 300 occupations. The Guides offer students and jobseekers occupational information to assist with making informed career choices."
